Leaders identify common goals and lead people toward them. Through my time as professor, department head, dean, and now as chancellor, I embrace a people-centric aspect of effective leadership. It is my approach to all levels of leadership on campus and beyond. I believe in adjusting goals as needed and celebrating achievements. I am not afraid to confront challenges, solicit broad input, and be accountable to students, peers, and superiors.
